The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in automotive plastic trims design and must not have worked with AB Volvo Trucks in the last 6 months.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Design and develop interior &amp; exterior trims for commercial vehicles using CATIA V5.</li><li>Work on plastic, sheet metal, and composite materials for automotive applications.</li><li>Ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) principles in component design.</li><li>Conduct feasibility studies and ensure compliance with Volvo Trucks' engineering standards.</li><li>Coordinate with cross-functional teams including supplier partners, manufacturing, and validation teams.</li><li>Handle 3D modeling, 2D drawing creation, GD&amp;T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and BOM preparation.</li><li>Perform design validation, prototype testing, and root cause analysis for design improvements.</li><li>Ensure adherence to automotive industry standards, safety regulations, and quality guidelines.</li><li>Support design reviews, cost optimization, and weight reduction initiatives.</li><li>Work closely with offshore and onsite teams to deliver project milestones on time.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Requirements:</strong></p><ul><li>3-6 years of experience in automotive interior &amp; exterior trims design.</li><li>Expertise in CATIA V5 (Part Design, Surface Design, Assembly, and Drafting).</li><li>Strong knowledge of plastic injection molding, sheet metal, and composite materials.</li><li>Familiarity with Volvo Trucks' design standards and automotive industry best practices.</li><li>Experience with GD&amp;T, tolerance stack-up, and DFMEA is a plus.</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills.</li><li>Must not have worked with AB Volvo Trucks in the last 6 months.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience working with commercial vehicles, trucks, or heavy-duty automotive projects.</li><li>Hands-on experience with PLM systems and engineering change management.</li><li>Exposure to supplier coordination and manufacturing processes.</li></ul><p><br></p><p>If you are a passionate automotive design engineer looking for a new challenge, apply now!</p>
