Design Engineer - CATIA

<p><u><strong>Field:</strong></u> Worked in Automotive Interior / Exterior Design/Surfacing<br /> <u><strong>Knowledge:</strong></u> Catia Advance Surfacing, GD&amp;T, DFM, DFA</p> <p><u><strong>Desired&nbsp;Skill&nbsp;Sets:</strong></u></p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience in Automotive Trims / Interiors / Exteriors / Sheet-metal, BIW &amp; Assembly</li> <li>Fixtures with Knowledge of Manufacturing/ Tooling.</li> <li>Proficient in 3D Part Design, Surfacing, Assembly Design, and 2D drafting in Catia (Surfacing is a must)</li> <li>CAD Design using CATIA HD2 V5</li> <li>Clear understanding and expertise in creating closed features (solids) from Class A Surface data</li> <li>Clear understanding of Design for Manufacture</li> <li>Clear Understanding of fits and tolerances</li> <li>Knowledge of creating pockets, reliefs, and Local area Steel inserts to avoid wear and Tear</li> <li>Knowledge of Mounting details of Plastic parts and Sheet metal parts ( Fixing holes threading, Tappings, Doweling )</li> <li>Knowledge of Fasteners, Dowels, and locating elements</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of Manufacturing Drawings &amp; GD&amp;T</li> <li>Quality checks like clash analysis, Thin section defects, and Clearances.</li> <li>Issue description/resolution by using PowerPoint for communication (ability to create issue-based PPT)</li> <li>Generating Manufacturing Drawings</li> <li>Documentation</li> <li>Clear Communication Skills with the ability to work on multiple projects.</li> </ul> <p><u><strong>Experience&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;Background:</strong></u></p> <ul> <li>Experience in Automotive Plastic Parts Design, Assembly &amp; BIW Checking, and Measurement</li> <li>Fixtures at Automobile OEM or Tier-1</li> <li>Experience in Body Structures / BIW, Interior Plastic Parts like Instrument Panels, Centre Console,</li> <li>Door Trims, Pillar Trims, Headliner Trims, Air vents, etc.</li> <li>Knowledge &amp; understanding of Manufacturing / Tooling is required.</li> <li>Experience of min. 2-4 Significant Projects within the chosen area.</li> <li>Thorough knowledge of Manufacturing Drawings &amp; GD&amp;T.</li> </ul>
