The ideal candidate will</li><li>support the design team in developing press tools, including progressive dies, tandem dies, and transfer dies for high-quality, high-volume automotive manufacturing. This</li><li>position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, contributing to the design and optimization of tools for sheet metal forming processes.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Assist in the design and development of press tools for automotive components such as body panels, brackets, and other sheet metal parts used in automotive manufacturing.</li><li>Support the design of progressive dies, transfer dies & tandem dies that meet design specifications, tolerances, and production requirements.</li><li>Collaborate with senior designers to optimize tool design for improved efficiency, reduced scrap, and higher productivity.</li><li>Create 2D drawings and 3D models of press tools and components using AutoCAD, CATIA & NX.</li><li>Prepare tooling drawings, assembly instructions, BOMs (Bills of Materials), and other related documentation.</li><li>Work with senior engineers to incorporate Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and other design standards into tooling designs.</li><li>Support design changes based on input from tool trials, production feedback, and team reviews.</li><li>Support the creation of tool prototypes and assist in trial runs to validate designs.</li><li>Work closely with the production team, quality control, maintenance, and manufacturing engineers to ensure tools are designed for manufacturability, assembly, and ease of</li><li>maintenance.</li><li>Provide support for the maintenance of existing press tools by working with maintenance teams to troubleshoot design-related issues or failures.</li><li>Ensure all tool designs, modifications, and changes are documented properly.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>NTTF, Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Tool Design, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.</li><li>Training or certifications in AutoCad, CATIA or NX.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Experience:</strong></p><ul><li>3-5 years of experience in press tool design for automotive parts .</li><li>Experience with progressive dies,Tandem dies and transfer dies is preferred.</li><li>Familiarity with manufacturing processes in the automotive industry, including stamping and die design.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Skills:</strong></p><ul><li>Proficiency in CAD software.</li><li>Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and its application to tooling design.</li><li>Strong understanding of press tools and metal forming processes such as stamping, blanking, drawing, and piercing.</li><li>Attention to detail and a keen interest in precision design.</li><li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams.</li><li>Ability to work well in a team environment and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Additional Information:</strong></p><ul><li>This role is based in a manufacturing design environment, with regular interactions with the production floor, toolroom, and engineering teams.
